Weather is still holding out!

I figure if we check different weather sites on a daily basis that we will really get a good picture of what to expect on Saturday. Today's forecast is even looking better than yesterday's.

Salvation Army Truck

As you know, The Salvation Army will be sending a truck to 65 Pepler Avenue at 1:30pm on Saturday for people to drop off their leftovers in the form of donations. 

You may see a truck that looks like a rental vehicle and that is because it is! Apparently, the trucks that they have been using are so old and falling apart so badly, they have finally had to order some new ones. They always look so nicely maintained and wrapped with their message, one would never suspect that they are in bad shape.

Here is a list of acceptable items for your reference.

They also recycle items such as broken electronics and stained or damaged clothing. For the recycled items, please clearly mark these items as recyclable. The only items that they cannot take are mattresses, boxsprings, bike helmets and baby items such as high chairs, strollers, etc... due to health codes.

and have a glass base.

Would keep but have nowhere to put it.

That is fabulous as it is always about the weather! Fingers crossed that it stays the same throughout the week.

Exciting news!

Yasmin on Pepler Avenue is going to be having her famous bake sale again this year. This will be her 11th year having the bake sale and all the proceeds go to Wellspring! Come early so that you don't miss out. 

A BIG Welcome to The Royal Canadian Legion

The Legion on Pape just south of O'Connor usually has their annual garage sale in July. They decided to join our community event this year and we are happy that they did! The more the merrier! They will be set up in the parking lot off of Pape. Drop by to do some shopping and to say hello.

The banners are strategically positioned, lawn signs are popping up around the neighbourhood and the hustle and bustle of people getting ready for garage sale has begun. There is always a sense of excitement in the air for the week leading up to the sale.

If anyone has anything they would like posted this week on the Blog to help to advertise their sale, please forward me a blurb and pictures. Happy to post about what is happening in the hood.

Fast approaching is this year's annual Golden Triangle Garage Sale !!

 

 

As you and your family get together to celebrate this long weekend, you might be talking about getting ready for Garage Sale! Whether or not you are going to participate...how many helpers you might need...When and where do I start my Spring cleaning.

This year is the 20th Anniversary of the Golden Triangle Garage Sale. It will be held on Saturday, June 3rd from 8am to 2pm.

This garage sale is possibly one of the best and most attended in the city. Tell your friends...post on your social media. Let's get the word out !!!

The 2016 Golden Triangle Garage Sale was a Huge Success !!

Here is a slide show of some of the highlights of the day.

The weather was absolutely perfect for the garage sale day ! Couldn't have ordered anything better. Things went smoothly and everyone seemed to have had a great day. Congratulations to everyone who donated to the Salvation Army! We collected 3 tonnes of donations.


Yasmin and her wonderful bake sale raised $775.30 for WellSpring ! That is absolutely fantastic! Amazing that she was able to do all that baking when she just became a new grandmother on Thursday.

Vanessa Barker and Taggart Lee for helping from 7am to 5pm. They worked very hard on the sale and helped to make sure things ran smoothly.


Janet Murray for providing lunch and snacks,


Joe Bortolussi for picking up all the signs and banners after the sale. That is a big job and Joe has done that for years.


John and Sheila Brazys for helping to unload cars with donations to go into The Salvation Army truck.

My husband, Peter Carr, for being working hard all day as well as the days leading up to the sale and for being such a wonderful support.

The Weather Person says...

Mainly sunny and 27 degrees on Saturday !! Yippee !! If the weather co-operates, we know that it will be a successful garage sale !

The interest in the sale this year is fantastic ! Both from sellers and shoppers. There have been a larger number of requests for garage sale packages and lawn signs this year. Please get the word out from now until Saturday on your social media.

Yasmin on Pepler has just confirmed that she will be having her annual bake sale again. That lady really knows her stuff when it comes to baking. All the proceeds from her sale go to WellSpring.

Please remember that The Salvation Army truck will be on Pepler to collect everyone's leftovers. It is the largest single day donation drive that they have in Ontario. Way to go Golden Triangle residents !!

The Salvation Army will be bringing a truck to 65 Pepler Avenue on the day of the sale from 1:30 to 4:00pm to collect all the leftovers. Below is a list of what the community needs.

Spring Has Sprung !!! Garage Sale Time is Back !!

The Golden Triangle Garage Sale is Back on June 4th !!!

Yes, it is true...it is time to get going on preparing for your garage sale this year. Whether you are shopping or selling, it will be a great day! The notice for the sale is below. 

We have not finalized that The Salvation Army will be participating this year and will keep you posted once we know.

Garage Sale 2015 was a Huge Success !!!

The weather was picture perfect. Everyone set up their tables and displayed their wares bright and early and then the people came.

There were quite a few sellers that were donating the money they made at the sale to different charities and organizations.

Yasmin Burt is a very special woman ! She has a bake sale every year and donates the proceeds to Wellspring, A Lifeline to Cancer Support. People come from far and wide to buy her baked goods and things sell quickly. This year, Yasmin raised a whooping $733 !!!! Way to go Yasmin !!

There are also some wonderful people that volunteered their time to help with the sale this year.
