The Garage Sale was a Huge Success in 2014

What a Fantastic Garage Sale Day !!!

The weather was awesome and there were lots of shoppers with money to spend. We had great exposure again this year with advertising in The Toronto Start and The East York Mirror.

Bloggers were
www.safaffect.com and www.muddyyork.com

The advertising on Kijiji saw 145 visits and there was an ad on Craigslist as well.

Our blog, www.goldentrianglegaragesale.blogspot.com had 557 views over the last month and there has been a total of 6,460 views to date.

Lynn posted on her social media sites along with many other garage sale people in the neighbourhood. The Downsizing Divas were tweeting often over the last few weeks about the sale as well. Thank you Divas!

The following are some of the highlights of the day along with lots of happy people selling and buying.

Two Days Until Garage Sale !!!

Now is the time to use your social media skills to get
the word out about the garage sale!

Exciting NEWS !!!

There will be a Mrs. Softy Inc. ice cream truck at 58 Pepler Avenue starting from 9am until early afternoon on Saturday. 15 to 20 % of the proceeds will be donated back to us and we would like to donate that money to The Salvation Army.

Soft ice cream and slushies are prepared fresh on site.

Mrs.Softy gets involved with big corporations and charities as well.

Peter Berbatiocis and his family have run the Mrs. Softy Inc. company since 2007. They have 38 trucks across Ontario. Their vehicles are licensed for vending and they are fully insured. Health and safety standards are strict. All staff have clearance certificates from the local police.Their goal is to ensure that you and your family enjoy your refreshments in a safe and healthy environment.

More Exciting news

The Salvation Army truck will be arriving at 60 Pepler Avenue shortly before 1:30 pm on Saturday to collect your leftovers after the sale again. This year, they will be giving everyone who contributes a $10 off coupon that can be used at any Salvation Army Thrift store. Denis, the truck driver, will not be here this year. He has been part of the sale for 8 years. He will be greatly missed. Please join me in welcoming Imperiel as this year's volunteer for the garage sale.

3 Days Until Garage Sale!

The Leslieville Cheese Market is back!!!

Yes, that is right folks, Michael Simpson, owner of the Leslieville Cheese Market located at 381 Donlands Avenue will be giving out samples of his famous grilled cheese sandwiches again this year. He will be set up at 60 Pepler Avenue.

Here is Michael in 2013, sharing his delicious food. Michael also has gourmet
dipping sauces for your sandwich sample.

Let's talk About The Weather

This is always a hot topic nearing garage sale day as everyone wants the weather to be nice. I have to admit that the last few years have been a bit iffy. However, The Weather Network says that it is going to be Sunny and 24 Degrees. That sounds just about perfect!

So, let's all keep our fingers and toes crossed that it will be a glorious day on Saturday!

Talk to you tomorrow and please let me know if you or anyone you know is doing something special for Garage Sale this year. Happy to post it.

Four More Days Until Garage Sale !!!

What is a Narwhal ?????

Eneli is a grade six student who loves helping animals. She was introduced to the charity Earth Rangers in school and has collected money in recent years at the street sale to help the Jefferson Salamander, The Spotted Turtle, and the polar bear. This year she is directing the money she collects from her sale to the World Wildlife Fund to help the Narwhal.

Eneli has been hard at work during the past four weeks creating colourful candles and imaginative greeting cards. She will be baking delicious muffins the day prior and looks forward to seeing you at the sale!
